The common assumption! Apparently because I’m a nutritionist that means no sugar in my coffee. Those 4 sugary grams (15kcal) in that 1 (flat) teaspoon are going to get me, but how, I have no idea! Of course, if you have 2,3,4 heaped teaspoons, multiple times a day it’s going to add up and your dentist may eventually cash in courtesy of your isotonic desktop sports drink. I hate to use the cliché ‘everything in moderation’ but it really is the truth. And coffee, like sweet craving humans, can be really bitter at times and occasionally needs sweetening up…no harm done and society will thank you.

What i’m saying is no foods are off limits! Society and social media can do an incredible job of misleading, misinforming and making you question your food choices. Understanding your nutritional needs and how to achieve them enables us to create personalised plans and sustainable habits to achieve your performance and health goals.
